Born and raised in Los Angeles, I graduated Beverly Hills High School (Class of ‘76) and received my Bachelor's Degree in Economics from UCLA in 1980. Right out of school I started selling apartment buildings right here in the Southland and obtained my real estate brokers license in 1981.
In 1989, I moved to Kahala, Hawaii to develop properties for sale to the Japanese investors. After the Tokyo Stock Market crashed in 1990, I moved back to Los Angeles and attended law school at the University of West Los Angeles.
My legal career began as a law clerk with Magana, Cathcart & McCarthy, a Century City law firm specializing in personal injury and wrongful death. After passing the bar in 1995, I started as an associate attorney with Barth, Green & Kelly, a real estate defense firm, where I represented sellers and real estate agents being sued by disgruntled buyers.
Although working in civil litigation was an extraordinary experience, and an outstanding training ground for a trial attorney, I realized that litigation was not my "cup of tea." In 1996, I founded the law firm of Matsunaga and Associates, an estate planning law firm, and we have been growing strong ever since.
My primary practice areas are: Estate Planning (Wills and Trusts), Probate, and Medi-Cal Planning for Long-Term Care. Over the years, I have personally met with thousands of families with a loved one facing long-term care. I am proud to say we have a 100% success rate in getting those family members approved for Medi-Cal benefits, while preserving assets and protecting the family home.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to have represented so many clients over so many years. I look forward to helping my existing clients and meeting and helping many new clients in the months and years ahead.
I am a member of the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform, California Association of Realtors, Beverly Hills Greater Los Angeles Board or Realtors, National Notary Association, Southern California Golf Association, and the Better Business Bureau.

Ms. Laura Butkute was born and raised in Europe, Lithuania. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Vilnius University, faculty of Law. Later she continued her legal studies in Los Angeles where she graduated from UCLA School of Law and is licensed to practice law in California.
In January of 2006 Laura joined Matsunaga & Associates to assist in the Estate planning and Medi-Cal departments. She has been responsible for the Medi-Cal department helping clients to qualify and protect their assets.
Further, she has focused on Bankruptcy and Commercial law and now is accommodating our clientele with Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy matters. Also, Ms. Butkute is a member of Bankruptcy, Trusts and Estates Sections of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. She actively seeks related knowledge by participating in educational seminars and conferences.

Robin Mancher Montano is a native Southern Californian and a graduate of Sawyer Business College in Los Angeles, California where she received her associate’s degree in Business Administration. In 2003 she joined our firm after over 10 years of employment with Resch, Polster, Alpert & Burger law firm where she had a office administrator’s position.
Mrs. Mancher Montano serves as our firm’s Office Manager and is responsible for many office operations, including secretarial duties, staff recruitment and training, personal management, and other law firm administrative functions. She manages our firm’s computer network and also supervises our law firm’s bookkeeping.
Robin extremely enjoys communicating with the clients and accommodating their needs. We are proud to have her as the representative person for our firm. She will definitely make sure that every client is happy and fully satisfied. |
